1. Who is responsible
The data controller for acoffeenow is Alexander Fürnsinn, Austria. For account deletion, use the web deletion portal. Further legal contact details will be added before the app’s public store release.
2. Data we process
- Account and profile data: email address, authentication provider, display name, username, optional biography and optional avatar.
- Social data: friend requests, accepted friendships, invitations and Cheers reactions.
- Coffee activity: coffee type, optional drink details, notes, place names and check-in timestamps.
- Optional location: latitude, longitude and reported accuracy only when you actively choose to attach your current location to a check-in.
- Device data: notification token and limited technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
3. Why we use it
We process data to create and secure your account, provide email/password or Google sign-in, publish your check-ins to accepted friends, maintain your history, find and invite people, show optional recent locations, send notifications, prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
Legal bases in the EEA
- Performance of the service you request, including your account, check-ins, friendships and Cheers.
- Your consent for optional location access and device notifications. You can decline or withdraw either permission.
- Legitimate interests in protecting accounts, preventing misuse and diagnosing technical problems.
- Compliance with legal obligations where applicable.
4. Visibility and sharing
Your check-ins are visible to you and accepted friends. Your basic profile can be discovered by signed-in users so they can send a friend request. An attached GPS position is visible only to you and accepted friends on the live map for one hour.
Coordinates remain associated with the protected check-in until that check-in or the account is deleted. acoffeenow does not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
5. Service providers
- Supabase: authentication, PostgreSQL database, file storage and server functions.
- Google: optional Google Account sign-in and map services.
- Expo: mobile build and notification delivery infrastructure.
These providers process data on behalf of acoffeenow under their applicable terms and safeguards. Depending on provider infrastructure, data may be processed outside Austria or the EEA using legally recognized transfer safeguards.
6. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide and protect the service. Invitation links expire after seven days. A shared location appears on friends’ live maps for one hour, while the protected coordinate remains linked to its check-in until the check-in or account is deleted. Provider security logs may be retained for limited periods under provider policies and legal requirements.
7. Deletion and your rights
You can delete individual check-ins from your History or permanently delete your account in the app’s Profile tab. You can also use the account-deletion page without opening the app.
Account deletion removes the authentication account, profile, avatars, friendships, invitations, check-ins, stored locations, Cheers and notification tokens. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
8. Security and children
We use access controls, row-level database security and encrypted network connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security. acoffeenow is not directed to children below the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
